Broccolini, Mon Amour...

Or, pulling my head out of the ground and seeing the sun!

I haven’t been starting the posts off lately with trip announcements, because all of our upcoming trips are sold out! But, we have a few new ones in the works, and I’m taking pre-bookings now for those (basically just give me your contact info so as soon as we open you can book). So check out my Travel With Me page to read all about it! Paris! Korea! Sicily!

When this post landed today in your mailbox, what was your first thought? “Oh, here she goes again with another obsessive ode to some random, gnarly root? What’s it gonna be this time Cheffy, rutabaga? Turnips? Celeri-rave? Can she ever write about anything else in the winter? Enough already! Where’s the cancel button?”

No! Please don’t cancel, in fact, if you’re not yet a paid subscriber, why not do that right now?

Well, ha! And psych! No roots and yes! This week, I went with the green, because even I, your root-loving best food-friend has to get her head out of the ground sometimes. And also, we shot this right before I left for the month so I’d have content to post while I’m here.

I’m in Paris, if this is your first time reading my Substack, and if so, bienvenue! (Did I mention subscribing?) I’ll be here for one more week, the final week of my month-long “semester abroad” that I never got to take as a student. I came to get away from the American insanity of the moment, to eat some cheese and apparently a lot of root vegetables, to see some old and newer friends and work on my French.
